I just bought the aforementioned controller yesterday. The driver automatically installs, and I see that windows recognizes it, but it does not light up at all. I unplugged it and re plugged it, and windows makes the appropriate chimes. I try updating the driver, using older drivers, and nothing seems to work. I looked in device manager, and its listed under Xbox Peripherals as 'Xbox Gaming Device'. I looked into the events tab for the device, and I saw at some points that the device could not be migrated. I think I may be missing critical files, or there may be some sort of conflict with the driver.

I plugged it into my girlfriend's laptop (also runs windows 10), and it works perfectly fine. Saw the same 'device could not be migrated' in her events tab as well-despite it working perfectly. I also tried cross referencing drivers between our computers in the system32 folder to see if she had files that I did not. I could not find anything that stood out to me. I even ran SFC.exe in the command prompt as an administrator. No missing or corrupt files detected.

Please help.

I do not want to do a clean install of windows 10, as I'd lose a lot of my games that I've downloaded. It would be a pain in the **** to re d/l all of them. But if its the only option, then I guess I have no choice.

I guess I should note that I had been using a Wireless Xbox 360 Adapter with a legit 360 controller up until yesterday, along with DS4 to use my PS4 controller.

EDIT: I failed to mention that on my girlfriend's laptop's device manager, i see xinput compatible hid device under Human Interface Devices. I do not see this at all in my own device manager. I have the xinputhid.sys file on both computers.
